Harley Davidson Sportster Flat tracker
We started with a Harley Davidsson Sportster 883 -02. Bike was bought in early spring, I crashed it on the test ride (some unseen gravel, locked up the front tire) hurt my hand and had to spend six weeks not working, bike was fine though and I got a lot done on it with nothing else to do. But ended up taking us all the way to summer until completion, lots of other bikes i the shop. Plan was to build a flat track inspired bike reminiscence of Evel's XR750. When we striped it we found out that it had 1200 cylinders, score! Cut down the stock back fender, shaved the front fork and triple trees, laced up 19" rims front and back, slamed on Maxxis flat track tires and the look was set! Continued it with some Biltwell bars and grips and a Sully customs seat. Modified the exhaust of an 883R, chain converted it. Build plate mount, coil bracket and mounted a key start and some mini switches. Finished it of with a Hella 500 light, modified dirt bike foot pegs, shaved stock hand controls and a Moon air filter. The bike rides and sounds as awesome as it looks and we are very happy with the results of our combined efforts! No it's just the 500km trip to it's new owner left...
